The saiga antelope looks totally normal if you start from the back and work your way to the front. It’s that NOSE. It’s … like an elephant’s trunk! But that huge honker is what allows the animal to breathe clean air during the dusty summers and to warm the air during the cold winters of its home range (which is southeastern Europe and Central Asia). Alas, this species is critically endangered due to hunting and loss of habitat.
